Abstract

The primary goal of the ECOOP 2001 Panel on The Next 700 Distributed Object Systems was to present a number of the essential characteristics of the next generation of distributed object systems as identified by participants in the ECOOP 2001 Workshop on The Next 700 Distributed Object Systems. Among many other topics, participants explored issues surrounding Peer-to-Peer computing, Failure handling, Context.
