| This note, using a definition of a sequential process which is based on the concepts of states and state variables, provides a common framework for the discussion of various existing techniques for allowing a set of sequential processes to interact. The techniques discussed include Test and Set-type operations, Dijkstra's P and V operations and the co-routine mechanism. |
