Abstract

It points out two security issues with the SPEKE protocol, as currently defined in the IEEE P1363.2 and ISO/IEC 11770-4 standards, and also proposes concrete changes to both standards. During the recent ISO/IEC SC 27 meeting at Mexico in October 2014, our attacks were discussed and it was agreed that the ISO/IEC 11770-4 standard should be revised to address the identified security weaknesses.
