Abstract

European Commission H2020 funded NOVELOG project (started in June 2015) aims to develop a guidance strategy on business models, as a common framework to support cities incorporating urban freight transport (UFT) solutions in their sustainable urban mobility plans (SUMPs), enabling collaborative schemes among private and public sector stakeholders who participate in the decision-making and operation of UFT policies and measures in the city. Guidelines introduced for the development and implementation of a SUMP explain the steps and activities essential for such as plan, but until now they are based entirely on measures and policies for enhancing passenger mobility. NOVELOG intends to contribute to the integration of the sustainable urban freight dimension into the larger context of urban planning development. focussing on how to join together green freight distribution plans and urban mobility plans.
