Abstract

Other details: Cycle, commissioned through international competition, is a 70m installed sculpture comprising eight visually and thematically linked elements within a constructed landscape. Made in earth, bronze, reclaimed brick, unfired clay, wood, corten steel and concrete, Cycle is a reinterpretation of the landscape within an urban context. Through an exploration of narratives associated with its site, it investigates problematic sculptural concerns, such as how diverse and ephemeral materials can be successfully resolved within a single, permanent work.
