Abstract

Curator of an exhibition of artists from the UK and overseas looking at visual arts practices that are essentially secretive: ie not primarily designed for the gaze of others but fro the maker themselves. It also looks at artists relationships to the secret and ideas of the secret. The project is informed by the work of Kurt Schwitters and will iclude work by Him, Henry Darger, Mark Lombardi and others. the project has been funded by Hayward Touring (£46,000) The exhibition is be accompanied by a full colour catalogue edited by myself and providing keynote essay as well as essays by Dr Roger Cardinal and Clare Carolin
