Benchmarking e-tool empowers SME logistics service users in Europe

Abstract

A benchmarking e-tool ideal for SMEs has been developed through desktop research followed by two rounds of field survey (interveiws). Logistics service providers includings transport companies, port operators, 3PLs and logistics service users, among others, took part in the interveiws. The e-tool is empowered by adding European Intermodal Route Finder that offers the users intermodal alternatives. The e-tool is developed to improve the efficiency within and across different modes of transport and thus to develop a quality logistics system.
