Abstract

The paper aims to roadmap the deployment of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) applications relevant to support the European Commission's sustainable transport targets, especially in the context of first and last mile solutions which are particularly focussed on the delivery of door-to-door public or private transport options which allow people to complete their journey (home) without using a car. The paper assessed the probable evolution and market access of future Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) relevant to mobility management over a 25-year horizon and to define a framework for northwest European cities to adopt ITS solutions suitable to their regions.
