Abstract

This article investigates the ideological difficulties in architectural debate in Finland during the modern period from the 60s till the 90s concentrating especially to Pietilä’s architecture and the residence of Finnish President. Finnish architectural discussion was based on dichotomy which didn’t recognize differences between contextual approaches on the other hand and expressionism or so called primitivism or organic approach on the other hand. Furthermore the kineasthetic or experiential and cultural factors were ignored.
