Abstract

This paper describes statistical support strategies in clinical and non-clinical areas of pharmaceutical development. The "slash and burn" model of statistical support is introduced. The emphasis on business need rather than regulatory driven support strategies in pharmaceuticals and greater deployment of statistical resource upstream of the clinical process in discovery and preclinical.
