See it, try it, show it: digital literacy development with a difference

Abstract

Newcastle University Library tried a new approach to staff development in the summer of 2014, running a multi-day digital literacy programme: #seeittryitshowit. This event aimed to encourage library staff to explore and discuss new digital tools and technologies in an informal and participatory way. The article explains why and how the event was organised, assesses its impact and considers how it could be developed in the future.
