This monograph redefines Wollstonecraft as a cosmopolitan writer whose work is shaped by the European commerce des lumières (especially her translational engagement with Rousseau, Genlis, and Salzmann) and by a response to Revolutionary politics that might be characterised as cosmopolitan patriotism.
