Abstract

Edition of a Greek papyrus of the Florence collection dated to the beginning of the third century AD, probably from the Arsinoite district (modern Fayyum), in Egypt, recording the payment of the crown tax (stephanikon). The commentary includes a discussion of the socio-economic implications of the imposition of this tax in Roman Egypt.
