This workshop will inform delegates how socialmedia can be used effectively long-term for both professionaland educational purposes, beyond the conclusion of theconference.New users will be inspired to create their own academic Twitteraccounts and to become confident in tweeting, while existingusers will be encouraged to develop their skills and knowledgeof Twitter for professional use.Recent literature that has described how social media is beingused in medical education will be presented by the workshopfacilitators, all of whom are actively incorporating social mediainto their teaching and academic practice at three separate UKmedical schools.
