Abstract

© 2018 IEEE. An undersampled pulse width modulation (UPWM)-based pulse position modulation (UPPM) scheme with the ability to support backward compatibility of UPWM is proposed for the rolling shutter-based optical camera communication systems. An adaptive-modulation scheme and a dedicated segment waveform are also proposed to increase the throughput and to solve several potential problems. Experimental tests are performed to proof the feasibility of the proposed UPPM scheme.
