This invention relates to gels that undergo either oscillatorystepwise expansion or oscillatory expansion and contraction .An oscillatory reaction occurs within the gel , changing theconditions of the gel , and causing the gel to expand andoptionally contract . The gels may be used for oscillatoryrelease of a chemical agent .
