Abstract

© The Institution of Engineering & Technology 2023.This paper describes the operation of an attenuator wave energy converter and uses it to evaluate three different simulation-based optimisation methods. The three methods are used to optimise the same flux reversal machine. Because the three methods optimise for different objective functions, they are compared using the annual energy yield each final design would produce based on a wave data set.
