Application of field oriented control to a cascaded doubly-fed induction machine

Abstract

Experiments were done to show the performance of a cascaded doubly-fed induction controller using field orientation principles. Using the controller, active and reactive power could be controlled independently, as in case of variable speed wind power. To monitor the rotor quantities the slip-rings and brushes were used.
