Abstract

The title compound, C22H29NO4SSi, displays an anomeric effect in the marked shortening of one C-O bond relative to the other in the oxirane ring, concomitantly weakening the C-S bond to the arylthio substituent. This correlates with the selective reactivity of nucleophiles at the C atom having the longer C-O bond. The absolute configuration has been determined from anomalous scattering effects. © 2003 International Union of Crystallography Printed in Great Britain - all rights reserved.
