Abstract

The title compound, [{Al(CH3)(2)}(2)(C12H18O)(2)], formed by the Me3Al-mediated alkylation of mesitylaldehyde, is dimeric in the solid state, with a central Al2O2 planar ring core residing on an inversion centre.
