Abstract

A number of researchers associated with the field of computing share their views on a smart semantic computing and its role in research. These researchers believe that there is an opportunity to involve users, who have emerged as producers and consumers of information on the Web. BioInformatics research demonstrate the potential benefits of semantic computing technologies. The term 'data mesh' is used in such efforts to cover the various concepts and approaches that can be used or combined to support a semantics-rich ecosystem of research tools and services. Researchers expect that over a period of time, a large ecosystem of services and tools will emerge around data mesh instances. Such tools and services will allow researchers to move beyond the existing practice of information management by incorporating more automation.
