Abstract

(Graph Presented) On the surface. The electron-transfer reaction between a stellacyanin (umecyanin) and cytochrome f exhibits an unusual dependence on ionic strength (I). The surface properties of umecyanin and protein-docking simulations can explain these kinetic data. This study provides an intriguing insight into surface features that are important for ensuring that encounter complexes can rearrange into a reactive form. © 2007 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
